The availability and price points of flat screens are changing on a day to day basis.  Clients are advised to select a competitive priced product, from a reputable manufacturer.  Please note, VESA mounting brackets to the rear enable the monitors to be wall mounted using a suitable bracket.

Additionally, where monitors may be mounted in 'brightly lit' loading bays etc, then clients are advised to select a monitor with a high 'Contrast Ratio' for ease of viewing.

Thank you Rob for your feedback on your experiences with the SYMBOL range of Barcode scanners.  The symbol scanners have a different configuration of lenses that make them less susceptible to scratches and therefore more reliable for factory use.

A suggested model is the Symbol LS2200.

Thank you all for your feedback on the Datalogic Blackjet device.  For those unfamiliar with the device, it is a hand held terminal with a built in barcode scanner that can be used remotely and connect to your system either through a wireless connection or using a 'mobile phone like' GPS data connection.

Feedback is currently that the hardware unit can be slow and unreliable, so we are currently carrying out further tests with the device to attempt to improve its performance and reliability.  We are also investigating other hardware devices with the view to developing a full mobile application for smartphones and therefore take advantage of the new devices and technologies coming to the domestic market place this year.

Our aim is the possibility to extend the reach of your TotalControlPro system far beyond the scope of your factory/office installation and your internet connected PC - and into field of mobile wireless.

For fabricators looking to achieve more accurate Job Timings, we are currently prototyping a Job On Pause barcode function.  This enables jobs to be put on pause during factory break/lunch times and/or over shift changes to pause the job function 'timer'.  This provides more accurate reporting when looking a overall job times.

For all users who have a contact form on their website, either for general enquiries or for quotations, all details entered by your prospects can now automatically appear within your TCP Retail application under the New Prospects section.

This avoids the need for extra data entry and enables your organisation to respond quickly and efficiently when online enquiries come through.

2.  Advanced Data & Attachment Backup

For added comfort when uploading and using the file store, V1.3 now includes a comprehensive data and attachment backup feature.  This can be found under the admin section and will enable you to download and store locally all your data.  You can either grab your entire data/attachments or use the incremental feature to just download all new data/attachments since your last backup.

3.  Editable Dates
